Trip to Minnesota

Jerry,Linda and I made a quick trip to Minnesota last Friday and came home on Tuesday. Jerry's Mom isn't doing well at all. Now it's not just her memory. Now she is angry and getting hard to handle. She won't take meds, is mean to the nurses and on and on and on. She was moved into the Memory Wing (lock down) and that makes her even more mad. Sometime she is her old self and it is so nice and then we walk in the morning and hear what she has been already doing before eight o'clock. We just feel torn apart when we can't help her or reason with her. Wonder what we'll be like if we reach 94 years!!My brother and sister-in-law came down to see us Sunday and we had dinner with them and their son and family from Rosemont. Monday night our grandson from Minneapolis came down for dinner. Was so nice to see them all.

On our way home Tuesday we stopped at Ehlenback's Cheese Chalet near Madison and bought some delicious cheese. There was gorgonzola, white cheddar/horseradish, swiss/caraway, white cheddar/dried cherry, dill garlic curds, sausage and some dark bread. Sounds like lunch doesn't it? That it was. We drove to the next rest stop and had a grand picnic lunch.

Was it ever wonderful to get home. Twelve hours is a long time on the road. Linda left Thursday to drive to Detroit to meet up with her family and go to a wedding. They will all come back here next Wednesday for four days with us.
