Where have the weeks gone?

I can't answer that! They are just gone and now it is 2009. Today I took all the ornaments off our tree. The tree isn't down yet and looks so sad. We always leave our tree up until Epiphany. It takes alot of time to get the ornaments packed in the right labeled baggie. I always feel the need to have them labeled right, in case I'm not the one to decorate the tree next year. No, I'm fine and expect to do the decorating next year but then you never know!!! I've been doing this same thing for many years and am always around for the next year. Mary Jane is coming over tomorrow after work to help get the tree in the box and carried downstairs. It is terribly heavy. Two grandsons were here on Monday but it wasn't Epiphany yet so we didn't work but just had a nice visit.

Worked last weekend on rearranging fabric..not mine but the church quilting group. Got 3 tops sewn for yesterday. Had quite a crowd down in our basement working. The noise level got pretty high with 10 happy women chattering and laughing. I have to take my hearing aids out and just hunker down in my corner and tend to my sewing. If any of you have hearing problems you know what too much noise can do to a person.

There is such good news about Missy's burns. She went to her folks Sunday. Her Mom is changing her bandages for her. Today they went back to the burn unit and the Dr is pleased how well Missy is healing. If she can get off the pain meds by the 19th she may be able to go back to work then. Thanks to so many prayers offered on her behalf.


My friend who had her leg amputated last year has been in the hospital 10 days with a kidney and blood infection. She remembers nothing from last week. Her Dr. said she has "turned the corner". She has been so happy to be in her own home the last few months and we hope she doesn't have to go back to a nursing home.

I've been looking up recipes for all these different beans that my brother grew. Can't fine much about the adzuki beans. I don't want to dump them all into a 7 bean soup pot. Some I'd like to try on their own.
I owe Carol at http://whatshappeningwithcarol.blogspot.com/ an apology. She gave me the Christmas Spirit Award....and it got lost with my last few weeks!! I was supposed to list 5 things I love about Christmas in order to keep the cheer going. I sure hope no one lost the spirit because of me! Maybe I can list the 5 things next December. Thanks Carol, even if I didn't follow through.


We've had crazy weather. So much lake effect snow, then rain, ice and snow again today through the weekend. We went to church last Sunday and as we were going to step out of the car we saw and felt the black ice on the parking lot. We looked at each other and said,"I think we should go home" so we did. A fall on the ice last March was the start of all of Jerry's problems(5 bulging discs and severed rotator cuff).

Sunday will be Anja's 3rd birthday. The first 2 were spent in an orphange in Siberia.
She has really gotten into this "opening packages thing"! She has chosen a Puppy birthday cake
