Hi from Arizona!!

Last Saturday we left the snow and cold of MI and fled to the warmth and sunshine of AZ. We flew on Allegiant Airlines. Allegiant just started service from Grand Rapids to Mesa which is only 10 minutes from Linda's house. How wonderful it was to fly direct. Usually the first leg of the trip is on a smaller plane that debarks at the far end of the next airport...a million miles from where we need to go for the next flight! Our flight left 2 minutes early and we arrived almost 15 minutes early in AZ. Such efficiency! From now on this will be our airline of choice. Guess we'll have to see how many NW miles we're leaving on the table!

The sun was shining Sunday morning but was rather cool. I only brought one fleece top and have worn that several days!! The storm that went through the area a week ago yesterday wrecked havoc on the pool with dust, dirt and leaves so we went to Home Depot for some cleaner.

This is what we saw as we walked up to the store. I'm so anxious to see all the plants outside the nurseries and stores at home....afraid I'll have to wait a few months for that though.
Linda took 3 days off work last week and will do that next week also. Monday we were out and about at some of our favorite shopping spots. We had lunch at "The Farm". Last year when we went to lunch there we saw someone Jerry used to work with who lives a mile from us at home. Isn't it a small world? This couple also has a daughter living here. This is such a neat tamarixtree . Those 2 huge branches are supported by steel supports. A sign says to watch out for falling scorpions!!!
The sky looked like a MI sky a couple of days...so cloudy and some rain. The temperature was 60 degrees so that was fine.
On Thursday my SIL Gail came for lunch. While Linda lives SE of Phoenix, Gail lives NW so it is quite a drive. We had a great talk fest, a lot of memories and laughs.
There I am, the third day in my fleece top!! Did laundry!

Every day we were out and about. The first stop each morning was Seattle Express. Stopped at a number of Dress Barn shops. Some are going out of business and had terrific sales....$40 items for $12!! We always check out the bargains at Ross' and found great clothes there too. Went to some quilt shops but haven't taken photos of my purchases yet. Stopped at the post office to pick up a couple of the large "flat rate" boxes....just in case we run out of space or weight allowance with our luggage! Yesterday we spent a couple hours at Ikea. Shouldn't go there when we are going home on the plane. Too many gadgets make there way into our basket. All 3 of us had the meat ball, mashed potato and lingon berry lunch. That's a lot of meatballs.

It sounds like you are having a fabulous time. I know the weather hasn't been as warm as normal, but it has to be a delight for you coming from the snow country.

That is an amazing tree! Falling scorpions???? No, thank you.

It is a small world. How strange you would run into someone you know. And....how nice it was to meet up with your sister.

Have a fun time visiting and shopping while you are there.
